What SaveSplice does

Compatibility

SaveSplice requires macOS 27.0 or later and accepts save files up to 50 MB. Workflows cover RPG Maker, Unity, Ren'Py, Unreal Engine, Palworld, GameMaker, NaniNovel, and generic formats.

Supported formats include JSON, INI/CFG, CSV/TSV, YAML, SQLite, and supported binary and compressed saves. Editing limits depend on the format: some saves allow only existing values to change, while unsupported variants are read-only or rejected. Palworld world saves are read-only.

Library presets are guidance, not a guarantee that every game version or save variant can be edited. SaveSplice does not bypass encryption, authentication, or checksums it cannot regenerate. Keep backups and verify edited saves in the game.

Originals stay safe

Export Save defaults to a ZIP containing both the untouched original and the edited save. You can choose an edited copy instead; opened originals are protected from overwrite.

Local history is off by default. Enabling it retains up to ten original and edited export pairs on this Mac. Templates also stay local and respect each format's editing restrictions.

Only import your own Ren'Py signing keys and sign saves you trust. Signing or removing signatures does not make unsafe game state safe. Imported keys stay in this Mac's non-synchronizing Keychain; one-off Repack keys are not retained.

Privacy and support

Parsing, editing, comparison, and signing run locally. SaveSplice does not upload saves, templates, diagnostics, or signing keys, and it has no analytics or accounts.

Manual or enabled automatic update checks contact update.mamei.dev, which receives ordinary request information such as your IP address and app version. Save editing needs no network connection.
